Since my guest blogging stint is coming to an end, it is perhaps a bit late for a presentation.
Anyway, my name is Tommaso Bruni. I am a PhD student at the State University of Milan (Italy) and at the University of Geneva (Switzerland). My interests mainly lie in bioethics and neuroethics.
I work more on the 'neuroscience of ethics' than on the 'ethics of neuroscience', to follow the distinction drawn by the classical 2002 paper by Adina Roskies.
As a matter of fact my PhD thesis deals with the impact of both experimental moral psychology and neuroscience of morality on meta-ethics and substantive ethics.
The aim of my research is to figure out to what extent empirical science, and in particular findings concerning moral psychology, can influence ethical theorizing.
Moreover, I am working in a cognitive neuroscience lab, so as to get some lab skills and a direct contact with the science I reflect on.
