So notes this NYT article about the challenges confronting a team of IBM researchers who are developing a computer to compete against humans in the gameshow "Jeopardy!". Apparently, the computer will not have access to the entire Internet but will still have a gargantuan database of information. For the computer to win, it will likely have to answer correctly more than 85% of the time, a typical rate of correct responses for a "Jeopardy!" champion.
