Adina Roskies holds PhDs in both neuroscience and philosophy, and has published important programmatic statements setting out the agenda for neuroethics. In her paper, she turns to the question of how reliable neuroimaging is as a guide to mental functions and processes. Some people accuse neuroimaging of being phrenology updated, whereas others are over-credulous of its powers.
