"Memory" or simply higher cognition? Just because I can remember to hold my breath when I jump in the pool doesn't mean respiration like hunger isn't fundamentally controlled by the brain stem. From bulimia and nervous eating and a million other things we already knew that higher cognition gets bound up with hunger and eating. I can't figure why this "new" finding is supposed to be either surprising or interesting.
