Whose definition of a "psychiatric disorder"? A lot of psychiatric disorders seemed to pop up in the Soviet gulag system - it's funny how many of those opposed to the government actually turned out to be mentally ill. Poor devils, couldn't help themselves. And all those wives of wealthy men during the Victorian age and earlier that turned out to be mentally ill - it was a pity she had to be committed and he had to become a playboy.

Maybe we as a society ought to follow the Nuremburg Code and not drug or "treat" anyone without their informed consent. Maybe mental health treatment should be dictated by the voluntary needs of the patient, not by other interests. I seem to remember some studies that suggested that exercise and placebo were in many cases superior to pharmaceuticals........
